We congratulate Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim on his nomination at the Young Investigator Awards Session during the next Virtual SSRL/LCLS Users Meeting - what a great honor!
He is one of the three top candidates selected by the User Executive Committee of SSRL/LCLS.

Mohamed works as a Postdoc in the SFB project A5 in the research group of Prof. Holger Dobbek (Humboldt Universität zu Berlin). He tries to elucidate the mechanism Photosystem II is using to generate dioxygen by using a unique combination of X-ray Free Electron Lasers imaging and spectroscopy.

Come and listen to Mohamed's presentation by registering on this website:

Time: Fri Oct 02, 8:30 AM
Title: "Deciphering the first substrate-binding en route to photosynthetic dioxygen formation"
Abstract: "Photosystem II is an efficient machine designed by nature to harvest solar energy and convert it. Revealing the mechanism of this protein could help inform the design of renewable energy technology. Our team deciphers a vital step in the mechanism using a unique combination of X-ray Free Electron Lasers imaging and spectroscopy."
