Rana Hussein Ali

Hello, I am Rana. Currently I am doing my PhD work with Prof. Athina Zouni at Humboldt university of Berlin. Our group is expert in membrane proteins crystallography. Mainly I am working in controlling and optimizing the crystal growth of photosystem II protein isolated and extracted from cyanobacteria. My interest to Learn crystallography was developed after finishing my master degree in Bioscience from KAUST 2012 and it was for me a big jump from being molecular biologist. My focus now is to study the protein structure of PSII through applying different technique including Neutron crystallography, X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
