From 2019 SFB 1978 started to participate in Berlin Science Week: 10 days international interdisciplinary event that brings together scientific organizations and promote public awareness of science.

In 2019 the PhD students from the IGK presented SFB 1078 at the Campus at the Museum of Natural History. In a simple experiment, they demonstrated how protein crystals are made and showed their growth under a microscope. A computer simulation illustrated how knowleadge of the molecular structure of the protein facilitates understanding of protein movements and protein behavior at a molecular level.
